Bodybuilding Basics for Beginners

Believe it or not, bodybuilding is for everyone. You don’t need to have great aspirations to gain muscle ripping biceps in order to experience benefits from lifting weights. Strength training holds so many health and fitness benefits but unfortunately many people simply overlook it. A high percentage of people, particularly those who wish to lose weight, by pass the strength training equipment at the gym in favor of the treadmill and aerobics classes. Whilst these forms of cardio fitness are important, body fitness using weights is just as important, if not more so; regardless of your goals.
Here are some quick body fitness tips for people who are new to bodybuilding:
You will notice fast results when you start lifting weights, but this drops off after a few months as your body becomes accustomed to the routine. That is why mixing up your workouts is vital. You can try isolation exercises, compound exercises, different repetition routines, pyramid workouts and many others.
2. Allow Recovery Time
Recovery time is just as important as time in the gym. It is during recovery that your muscles repair and grow. Therefore you must give them ample time to undertake this process. Generally you will aim to work each muscle group twice per week so there is about three days of repair time between each workout.
3. Eat For FitnessWhat you eat is going to determine your results. If you workout well, but eat badly then you are just wasting your time and energy. Your diet must complement your fitness routine. It should be high in protein and complex carbohydrates, but low in simple carbohydrates, fats, sugars and salt.
Body fitness should be a part of your workout routine at least twice per week. Unlike cardio exercise which can take some time to reveal benefits and changes within your body, working out with weights takes effect much quicker and with more pronounced results. You can

Fitness Model & Figure Competitor Rachel Michele
World of Weights
I was hooked. Over the next few months of my new hobby I enjoyed many compliments from my fellow gym goers and was even asked on occasion if I planned to compete in bodybuilding competitions in the near future. The idea baffled me at first. I would be graduating with a degree in Business Marketing in a matter of weeks and without the slightest idea of what I would do once I entered the ‘real world’ I began seriously considering competing in my first figure competition.
A couple of weeks after my graduation I signed up with a personal trainer, Amber Neuhauser, at my local 24 Hour Fitness. Over the course of six months Amber became more like family to me. She was a shoulder to lean on during my worst times and was my number one cheerleader. We worked together for six long months, covering everything from my new diet and training plan to coping with the mental fatigue that comes with preparing for any bodybuilding competition.
I’m a firm believer in the age old saying ‘anything is possible if you set your mind to it’. No matter what the goal, as long as you can visualize yourself at the finish line, you can make it a reality! Training for this competition has probably been one of the most challenging experiences in my life, but also one of the most rewarding.
There were days when I felt like throwing in the towel. I’d think to myself how much easier life would be without preplanning every meal or working out twice a day, six times a week, but there were also days when members at my gym would ask for fitness advice or compliment my physique or determination. These were the days that made everything worthwhile. I will be competing in my first figure competition this July and have two more shows in place for the following weeks.
I have never been more proud of myself for accomplishing such a goal and the cherry on top would have to be all of the amazing compliments I receive! I hope that more women will add weight lifting into their training routines because I’ve never felt more beautiful than I do now, and I’ve never been told I look ‘bulky’ or ‘masculine’!

Gail Kim
Well we took a departure last time with MMA, so let's move a little further away into the world of pro wrestling.
Even if wrestling is staged, you have to be in shape to take the bumps, bruises and chairshots that wrestlers get every week (and in some cases every night).
So let's start with Gail Kim.
Gail is a Canadian-born pro wrestler, valet, model, and actress of Korean descent.
She has held the Womens Wrestling Championship in both the WWE and TNA.
Before wrestling, Gail participated in basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and badminton, and was named "Athlete of the Year" twice at York Memorial Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
She studied kinesiology at the University of Toronto and nutrition at Ryerson University.
And of course as I mentioned before, Gail was both the WWE Women's Champion and the TNA Women's World Champion.
K.L. Frahn
This beautiful young lady is fitness model K.L. Frahn (Kristen Leigh Frahn).
She's 5'4" and weighs 124 lbs and is not only a fitness model, but is trained in Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (brown belt).
K.L. started out with fitness training to enhance her martial arts training, and I would say it worked.
Chisato Mishima - Asian Fitness Beauty
Asian fitness beauty Chisato Mishima was (and as far as I know still is ) the first Japanese aerobic athlete to compete in the IFSB Ms. Fitness and IFBB Ms. Fitness Professional female fitness competitions.
She was born in Nagoya, Japan on November 17, 1967.
Chisato was always big in sports, becoming a Japan national gymnastics champion during high school.
After graduating with a degree in sociology, she moved to Tokyo and became went into teaching fitness training at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium.
During the first half of the nineties, she became one of Japan's top aerobic competitors.
Around 1995, she moved to London to compete in the European Ms. Fitness women's fitness competition.
While she was in London, she coached several top English and European bodybuilders and taught aerobics at the famous Earls Court Gym.
Chisato qualified for the World Championships to be held in the U.S. and moved to San Diego in 1997.
After competing there, she visited Nice in the South of France to represent Japan in the Ms. Fitness Olympia.
Upon getting her degree in exercise physiology, Chisato moved back to Nagoya.
Then, after retiring from fitness competition, she became a Jodo Instructor at the Haruyoshi Kobudo Dojo in Nagoya, Japan.
Okay, I didn't misspell Judo there...Jodo is a Japanese martial art using short staffs, similar to bōjutsu.
Here are a couple of videos I found on YouTube of Chisato that were done back in 2006, that were posted by jfkcotter

Jamie Eason - R4TJA5UHN8F2
Who doesn't like Jamie Eason?
She's very popular on the internet, and she seems to be a very nice young lady, who actually goes into forums and posts.
To get into the incredible shape you see here, Jamie used a personal trainer and nutritionist.
It looks like it really paid off.
I can't really find much on her in the way of contest history....
Maybe someone out there can tell us where she has competed.
Besides being a fitness model, she is a computer software consultant.
Jamie has been on the cover of Oxygen Magazine twice.
