Be a fitness model! HA

My husband came home bragging about this mother of two had lost 70 lbs and was now a fitness model.. um.. talk about pressure.  Anyway, she basically summed up her success to researching what athletes ate and then mimicking their lifestyle.  Pretty basic, nothing new. So I thought about it, did a little research, and what I found was the same thing over and over.

• They all mimic a similar lifestyle (why re-invent the wheel?) 
• Ate 5-6 evenly spaced out meals, 
• Most don't calorie count
• Cut out processed foods and large amounts of carbs
• portion control ( with six meals, this is totally doable)

• Cardio is important but said strength training was a must

In my research I found a super cute, super fun blogger: Dedication to life who does guest posts on fitness blogs and has her own super fantastic blog. She shares recipes, workouts, and while she is fit and pretty (far away from where I am) she just seems normal!

Female fitness is a very popular topic.
Just do a quick web search and you will find thousands of sites devoted to the women of bodybuilding, fitness, figure and bikini competitions.
I guess like a lot of people, the first woman that I ever really noticed in fitness was Rachel McLish.
Rachel ruled female bodybuilding in the early 80s and she made a lot of people change their minds about what a female bodybuilder was supposed to look like.
She was lean, tan and though she had great definition, she wasn't big.
Then came Cory Everson who was Rachel's opposite.
She was blond and a bit bigger than Rachel, but still sleek and muscular.
ESPN did a lot to promote female fitness, showing competitions and hosting the fitness program BodyShaping.
BodyShaping was originally hosted by Cory, but it's well known for bringing the top female fitness models like the gorgeous Kiana Tom into the spotlight.
Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini competitions all have their own set of rules, but each division has women that work just as hard as the men do to achieve physical perfection.
Though I had several female fitness blogs, I wanted to do Lenses on Squidoo to highlight my own personal favorites in the field.
I lean more towards Figure, Fitness and Bikini, because those women remind me more of the "Old Days" with fitness beauties like Rachel and Cory.

My most popular fitness beauty Lens is hands down Amanda Latona.
I have followed Amanda's career for a pretty good while and if anyone today embodies the Rachel McLish version of feminine perfection, it's Amanda.
But Amanda is not only an IFBB Bikini Pro, she's a singer as well.
As a matter of fact, she started out in an all girl singing group known called Innosense.
The members were Amanda, Danay Ferrer, Mandy Ashford, Nikki DeLoach and....Britney Spears!

In 2011 she had first place finishes at the 2011 IFBB MuscleContest Pro Bikini, the 2011 IFBB Titans Grand Prix Pro Bikini and the 2011 IFBB Sacramento Pro 212 and Bikini.

Another lady whose career I have followed is the gorgeous Monique (Minton) Ricardo.
Monique is to me the embodiment of the modern day Amazon.
She's five foot, ten inches tall, one hundred and fifty pounds and besides starting out in IFBB Figure competitions and moving on to IFBB Bikini, she is skilled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
So much so, that in 2009, she won a gold medal in the Naga Europa (The North American Grappling Association) no gi division!
All that is on hold right now as Monique and her husband are expecting their first child.
But I REALLY hope she comes back after the birth.

Ahhh, Kyla McGrath.
Kyla is the sister of bodybuilder Frank (Wrath) McGrath who won the 2000 Newfoundland Championships and the 2003 Canadian Championships so good genes run in her family.
I saw pictures of her and really thought that she might very well be the next big thing.
But unfortunately, after the 2008 Miss Bikini Universe in Miami and the Flex Magazine Bikini Model Search at the 2008 Olympia she seems to have just vanished.
Even though she's gone from the spotlight, I did a Lens on her hoping that one day she may return.

Veronique Morin is not only a Canadian Fitness Model, a WBFF Bikini Competitor and drop-dead gorgeous, but she's also a mother of two!
You dont see a lot of redhead fitness models, so she is a real stand out.

I am always on the look out for someone that catches my eye and for someone that I think will be the next big thing in Figure, Fitness and Bikini, so I do a lot of Lenses on the overall competitions so expect this Lensography to grow!

I thought instead of doing a top ten, I'd do a top eight of the most searched for female fitness competitors, female bodybuilders and female fitness models on this blog last month.
Why not be a little different?
Like I said, some of these women are female fitness competitors, some are certified personal trainers, some are certified personal fitness trainers, some are actresses and there is even one classically trained pianist in the bunch.
But they are all beautiful.
So here are the 8 most searched for Asian fitness women on this blog last month....

1. Rebekah Kresila
Last August, amateur female bodybuilder, certified personal trainer and classical pianist, Rebekah Kresila from Cleveland, Ohio came in at number seven .
Now she has topped the list at number one.

2. Denise Paglia
Former ESPN fitness beauty, Denise Paglia came in at number three in August, but now she's moved up to number two.

3. Monique Minton
I think I may have featured fitness babe Monique Minton on here more than anyone else.
Three entries and three appearances in the Top Ten lists.
After months of being the number one searched for fitness woman here, she has finally dropped down to number three.

4. Michiko Nishiwaki
Former female bodybuilder, powerlifter, actress, certified fitness trainer, stunt woman, martial artist and fight choreographer (whew!) Michiko Nishiwaki comes in at number four.
